Water Doesn’t Fix Dry Soil

If your raised beds or pots have gone dry, patchy…
and nothing really seems to work anymore

this is probably why.

Watering more and not seeing results...?

Most people think:

  • needs more water

  • needs more feed

  • needs topping up

Sometimes it does.

But a lot of the time… it doesn’t.

When biology drops off, soil stops functioning.

Water:

  • runs off

  • drains too fast

  • or just doesn’t stay where it should

Plants struggle. Even when you’re doing everything right.

I put together a short guide on what’s actually going on in raised beds and pots.

And what starts to bring it back.

Inside it:

  • why soil stops holding water

  • what microbes are actually doing

  • how to bring it back

  • why more water or feed doesn’t fix it

About Me

I work with soil biology.

Using a microscope, I look at bacteria, fungi and the rest of the soil food web to understand why soil stops working.

Then it’s about finding practical ways to bring it back.

Once you understand what’s going on,
everything else gets easier.
